Viking Artifact - Trondheim

A main goal in my trip was to see actual Viking age artifacts. I wanted to get an idea of how Rorik and his people lived, to be able to describe his world with some degree of accuracy.

In addition to Nidaros Cathedral and Sverresborg in Trondheim, I stopped by the Museum of Natural History housed at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology to see their exhibition of artifacts.

It was richly rewarding to see these artifacts in person!

And you know, only 5% of Trondheim has been excavated. Which means endless knowledge remains to be discovered!

I’ve loaded pictures of these artifacts to Flickr. Click below to see them, or to visit the museum websites. And as always, feel free to use or republish any of the photos that you find helpful. Please mention somewhere that they were taken by Dawna Rand in researching Odin’s End.
